Tubist Jennifer Stephen is originally from Yellowknife, NT. She pursued her studies first at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Bowling Green State University, and the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

In addition to her position as Principal tubist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Jennifer is an active freelance tubist in Ontario and across Canada, performing with ensembles such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company Orchestra, National Ballet Orchestra of Canada, the Calgary Philharmonic, and the Hamilton Philharmonic, among others. She is a member of the Esprit Orchestra and both a performer in and Executive Director of the renowned Hannaford Street Silver Band. An active chamber and session musician in Ontario, Jennifer regularly records for Film and Television and has appeared on numerous award-winning pop albums and video game soundtracks.

Jennifer is a passionate educator and maintains a busy studio at the University of Toronto. She is an in-demand clinician, and has appeared as a guest coach and clinician at many music schools across Canada, including the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, the Glenn Gould Professional School and Memorial University. She is a member of the Creative Committee of the Canadian Women’s Brass Collective, and has been on faculty at the National Music Camp of Canada since 2010.
