THE LOCALE
Orvieto, located in Umbria 60 miles north of Rome, is a medieval walled city dating from the twelfth century and is thought of as one of the jewels of Umbria's hill towns. Its cathedral is considered one of the must-see churches of Italy for its stunning gold-and-mosaic Gothic facade and frescos by Luca Signorelli, which influenced Michaelangelo's creations in the Sistine Chapel. In-town Orvieto Musica concerts are performed in Orvieto's historic buildings and churches. Living among the centuries-old buildings and cobblestone streets is an experience you will never forget. Orvieto is on the main Rome-to-Florence rail line and is convenient to virtually every major Italian city.

THE SCHEDULE
Weekday mornings are devoted to chamber ensemble rehearsals. After lunch, participants enjoy riposo, the traditional Italian midday rest time, followed by rehearsals or free time until dinner. Group functions and Italian language and culture classes are also offered. Although members participate in three or four evening concerts each week, some afternoons, evenings and every weekend are free, providing ample time for sightseeing.

HOUSING AND MEALS
All participants are housed in comfortable pensione facilities, newly renovated and equipped with modern amenities, or in apartments, in the heart of Orvieto. Rooms are double or triple occupancy, with single rooms available for an additional $600. The workshop fee includes continental breakfast and vouchers for one main meal daily at select local restaurants. Orvieto boasts many inexpensive pizzerias and food markets, all within easy walking distance.

TUITION AND COST
The 3-week workshop fee is $2,450 U.S., which includes all coaching, use of practice and rehearsal facilities, room, continental breakfast, one main meal per day, and transportation to all concerts. The tuition for TrumpetFest is $900 and includes program offerings as described on the TrumpetFest page. A $45 non-refundable application fee may be used toward tuition if accepted. Transportation between the U.S. and Orvieto is not included.

GUESTS WELCOME
Every year Orvieto Musica warmly welcomes guests of Orvieto Musica participants to join their friends or loved ones for a portion of the festival, or for the entire three weeks. Festival guests are included in all activities of the festivals and are welcome to attend coachings and master classes. They receive vouchers for meals with the participants and are also welcome to travel with the festival on festival-related excursions at no extra cost.
